Live music at The Seal
Joe Butt, from Littlehampton, has had a long and interesting career as a singer-songwriter with publishing deals and much airtime on John Peel’s BBC Radio shows.
He has an enthusiasm for good music from all eras which has given him a repertoire of hundreds of covers, from the 1950s to the present day.
“Decent pop music? Pop music is about melodies, not technique. It doesn’t matter how fast your fingers are moving, it matters where they’re going. Pop music is a devalued term, but for me, the Clash, the Killers, Radiohead and Crowded House are just as pop as Abba. Which is why I play songs from them all.” – Joe Butt
