As you are all aware we run regular raffles and fundraising events during the year, this allows us to not only donate to charities but also to support our friends when they fundraise. We are pleased to say that due to your continued support throughout the year we were able to sponsor Sue when she went up in the Spitfire to raise money for St Wilfrid’s hospice.

Here’s a few words from Sue;

“On the 22nd October 2019 I took to the Skies in the Spitfire, wow what an experience.My Smile was from ear to ear. My friends all came with me to Lee on Solent (I think they came to make sure I did the Flight) There was no reason to doubt my commitment. The team at Boultbee Flight Academy were incredible nothing was too much trouble .My friends were treated like VIPs .I had complete faith in both my Pilot RAT and ground crew ANDY . The weather conditions could not have been better. We achieved all the locations I had asked for, Selsey over the lifeboat station, St Wilfrids Church yard in Norton Church , over St Wilfrids Hospice at Bosham then back to Lee on Solent.
Rat did a victory roll over the Graves of NIno, Mervin and Jenny. Bless him. That was exciting. Rat would have done more rolls, but I wanted to savour the feeling of flying sedately through the air in this beautiful plane. She is so graceful.
I would like to thank all my family, friends members of Selsey Golf Club, Crablands Tennis Club,The Seal Hotel (for their £100. donation .)
I think my friend Mervin would have approved of the effort everyone has put into the fund raising for St Wilfrids Hospice. Without their support I would not have achieved this. THANK YOU,
Over and out Spitfire Sue x “
